Had my first game of Dropzone Commander today and it was awesome as it had a unique but familiar gaming system, with the addition of the command cards, gave it a boost in my books. While it isn't exactly cheap, 1500 points is roughly £120, it has everything you need to get going from the starter armies until the 2 player starter box is released at the end of September; www.hawkwargames.com/products/… Though I am looking forward to getting my Post Human Republic army up and running with the hopeful addition of the Hades Heavy Walker www.hawkwargames.com/products/…
Also I have been keeping this little DWAR3 conversion hidden for a while until I picked it back up just the other day thinking it might be worth making it massive fleet battle worthy; Battlestar Galactica: Another Era. Basically it my own alternate version of the BSG storyline but with a massive war going on as the BSG fleet finds Earth only to discover that it is at war with Kobol and they have been fighting for over a 100 years. Earth and Kobol colonise 15 distant worlds with 15 different colonisation fleets and a secret 16th is sent beyond known space (12 Colonies). Cutting a few thousand years worth of history short the plotline of the game picks up where Earth is under siege by Bionics (Kobol's version of Flesh-Cylons but are lettered not numbered) that have amassed a large Battlestar fleet. Earth defends with it's own ships; Titan class Battlestars with it's own elite Centurions on the ground helping evacuate the planet. The Centurions are actually humans clad in elite mechanical suits of armour (think Iron Man, Mk2 BSG Centurions, and Starcraft's Terran Marines) based on the original Cylons who have since left known space and are out in the galaxy somewhere.
The other colonies have formed their own "Coalition" to help protect themselves from the war between Earth and Kobol and now the 16th colony arrives seeking salvation (BSG Season 4) but only finds more destruction and chaos, but also hope.
The game itself would be an all out fleet engagement on a large scale with unique ships for each planet/faction with the colossal Titan class Battlestars (for which there are 6) taking centre stage for Earth, and the hulking Bionic Warstars for Kobol, where as Human Alliance ships would be a mix of various different ships designs.
Star Wars models for DAZ
Images of available Star Wars models for your 3D rendering. Note that these are not downloads but, where possible, download links will be on the pages. Some are hi-res characters and clothing for G8 and G3 models, some are simple objects such as vehicles. I'm hoping this will be a fairly exhaustive look at both free and premium models available for Star Wars fans.

My 2024 Roadmap and a depressive 2023
My last journal entry from me was roughly summer 2023 of which I announced Compact Sci-Fi Battles that I intended to get out and through to everyone by the end of the year. I failed that. This is mainly due to a sad, and embarrassing, spiral into alcoholism and refusing to commit to change despite fully acknowledging it, which in turn has greatly increased my anxiety and bouts of depression. Hate to use the very cliché line, "New Year New Me" but this is going to be me this year. Vastly, if not outright, cutting alcohol out of my life so I can focus of my multitude of wargame projects that I've started but haven't finished, this due to the alcohol sapping all motivation and creativity from my body and my mind. Hence little to no work being done on anything. Of course many of you may have noticed Star Destroyer Leader popping up on my page, this was more a pet project I made during the early weeks of autumn to keep myself entertained while at a somewhat boring weekend at a family get
Compact Sci-Fi Battles
The new series of games I've been working on for several years, some on but mostly off, based around the former Wizkid's game; Pirates of the Spanish Main line of collectable card/miniatures game. The idea behind this is that ALL starships fit on a credit card sized counter, it has a majority of the core stats on that card, and a second card detailing special abilities. Likewise you can fit an entire fleet (depending on the thickness of the card stock used) inside you wallet, purse, or pocket at the end. All measurements are based around the card size but doubled or tripled based on the ranges used. Each CSFB game is self contained and will come with their own solitaire rules and scenarios for you to test out which fleet or faction or race you prefer. So far the current games in the selection are Star Trek TOS Cold War featuring Starfleet, Romulan, and Klingon fleets, with about 5 ships each race. The second being Battlestar Galactica Cylon War that features Colonial and Cylon fleets
What's Going on with DA's Interface?
So I come on here everyday to check on subscriptions and new deviations only to see deviantART seemingly having an identity crisis. One week the alerts bell is on one side, the search bar is on the left, and the watch/notifications tab is where ever the other 2 are not, then another week everything has reverted back to a previous design? Am I seeing that right? Anyone else notice this? It's not just my browser as I've recently done a complete reformat and reinstall for the computer.
New Updated Rulebooks
So, recently began updating rulebooks for a certain Star Trek game to get them in line with the previously updated ones. Managed to do Gorn and Tholians in a single day, Cardassians are up next. Then after than I'll move on to Mass Effect which should be a little easier as that's all in a single rulebook. Aiming to get the Non-Council Races created to specifications followed by The Reapers soon after. Not entirely sure what sci-fi should that'll come next but it might be Battlestar Galactica or even Farscape! Again, unsure if I'll have the motivation at that point but hopefully will have something on the hard disk at least.
